Are Your Workouts Turning You Into A Powerhouse…or Burnt Grilled Cheese?
If your body feels like toast immediately after a hard interval workout, good effort! However, if you still feel like this a couple hours later, you might be well into a chronic condition often referred to as being “overtrained”. That’s bad news!
Overtraining can lead to reduced fitness, frequent injuries, and chronic fatigue…the kind of fatigue that can take months of recovery.
Train smarter, not harder.

So glad you’re here!
Cross-country skiing has been an awesome part of my life throughout the years. Now in my late-fifties, I’m still just as jazzed about skiing as I was in elementary school. I'm so grateful for everyone involved in this community, from ski clubs to coaches and all the friendly faces out on the trails. This website is one of the ways I can pay it forward.
Although currently overweight, and never a world-class athlete, I now realize how much this healthy, fit, nordic skiing lifestyle has contributed to my continued good health. My doctor seems surprised that I don’t have the arterial calcium build-up, prediabetes, or other serious health issues that are, astonishingly, considered normal for my age group. Apparently, all those kilometers, intervals, and outdoor adventures are paying off. If you’re new to the sport, I recommend you grab on to the cross-country skiing lifestyle and never let go.
